Accessibility Statement

The Waterfront is committed to keeping our website and our restaurant open to people of all abilities.

Our commitment

We believe access to our menus, hours, reservations, and events should be available to everyone — regardless of vision, hearing, motor ability, or the assistive technology you rely on. We design and maintain this site with that goal in mind, and we welcome feedback when we fall short.

Conformance status

This website is built to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA defines requirements that make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and is the technical standard the U.S. Department of Justice references for ADA web compliance.

We test conformance using axe DevTools, WAVE, the NVDA screen reader, keyboard-only navigation, and manual contrast checks. Tests cover every page on this site.

Features for accessibility

  • Skip-to-content link on every page for keyboard and screen-reader users
  • Semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) on every page
  • Descriptive alternative text on photographs and meaningful images
  • Visible focus indicators on every interactive element
  • Colour contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 AA across text, controls, and links
  • Forms with persistent labels, helpful error messages, and live regions for status updates
  • Carousels and motion that pause automatically when prefers-reduced-motion is set
  • Pages that scale to 200% without breaking the layout or hiding content
  • Touch targets at least 44 by 44 pixels on phones and tablets
  • HTML on the page for our menus — no PDF-only menus that rely on screen-reader heuristics

Known limitations

A few features rely on third-party widgets we cannot fully control:

  • OpenTable reservation widget on our reservations page. We provide a direct link to OpenTable as a fallback if the widget does not work for you.
  • Online ordering through Toast and events scheduling through SpeakeasyGo. Each opens on its own platform.
